School Journeys
Peak Pursuits partners with schools to deliver Duke of Edinburgh programs that foster a strong culture of teamwork, resilience, and personal growth.
Our programs are designed to support students as they challenge themselves, build meaningful connections, and develop leadership skills in a supportive and adventurous environment. With a focus on collaboration and character development, we help schools create experiences that leave a lasting impact on their students, extending beyond the expedition itself.

Starting your Duke of Edinburgh journey can be daunting for participants and families. Our Bronze package is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of outdoor adventure, supporting participants as they hone their skills in navigation and bushcraft.
Our carefully planned two-day, one-night expeditions provide a safe yet challenging experience, where students learn essential skills such as map reading, route planning, and campcraft while exploring stunning natural landscapes.
Our Bronze package includes a comprehensive training session, equipping participants with essential skills in map reading, packing techniques, and campcraft to ensure they are well-prepared for their expeditions.
Our expeditions are customized to meet the specific needs of each group, with flexibility in duration, difficulty level, and terrain selection to provide an appropriate and engaging challenge for participants.
Additionally, our Bronze package includes the provision of all necessary equipment, ensuring participants have access to tents, hiking packs, stoves, fuel, and compasses, allowing them to focus on skill development and the adventure ahead.

Take your Duke of Edinburgh journey to the next level with our Silver expeditions. These journeys are designed to challenge participants with longer distances, varied terrain, and increased independence.
Our three-day, two-night expeditions build upon the skills learned at the Bronze level, enhancing navigation, teamwork, and resilience in more demanding environments. Participants will explore diverse landscapes, from coastal tracks and bushland trails to rugged mountain terrain, developing their confidence, problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills along the way.
To support a seamless experience, we provide all necessary equipment, including tents, hiking packs, stoves, fuel, and compasses, ensuring a well-prepared and rewarding expedition.

For the Gold level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Peak Pursuits provide a range of expedition options, including local, interstate, and international journeys, tailored to offer participants a challenging and enriching outdoor experience.
Our local hikes follow the same structure as the Bronze and Silver levels of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, consisting of two local, four-day expeditions. These journeys take place in diverse and inspiring locations, including a coastal expedition in Murramarang, a bushland trek through the Budawangs, and a challenging ascent to Australia’s highest peak in Kosciuszko, among others.
We believe that local expeditions are a valuable and rewarding way to complete the Duke of Edinburgh program. These local hikes offer participants the opportunity to apply their skills in challenging environments, while deepening their connection to Australia's diverse landscapes.
We believe that an interstate or international extended expedition serves as the ideal culmination of the program, providing participants with an opportunity to apply their skills in new and challenging environments.
Our extended journeys span 12 days, enabling Gold Participants to complete both their Preliminary and Qualifying expeditions within a single trip. These extended programs are thoughtfully designed to include time for rest, leisure, and cultural exploration, ensuring a balanced experience that enriches the journey beyond the core expedition activities.
We currently offer annual trips to Tasmania and New Zealand during the Christmas school holidays.
