Place and Liveability - Excursion
Green Square has been one of the largest urban renewal projects in Australia, where it has been transformed from an industrial precinct to a sustainable community.
This Geography excursion takes students to one of Australia’s most ambitious urban renewal projects, where they will explore how sustainable design and urban development coexist to enhance liveability.
Students will investigate key features such as green infrastructure, renewable energy systems, water recycling, and community-focused spaces. Students will also analyse how Green Square addresses challenges like urban density, environmental impact, and liveability, providing a real-world example of sustainable urban growth.
This excursion allows students to experience and see future-focused solutions for urban places in our home city.
Dropoff and Pickup location - Mary O'Brien Reserve, Zetland.
Amenities - Public bathroom, water refilling points
Cost - $25 per student, including GST
Start Time - 9.30am
Finish Time - 2.30pm
